Our Produce We are not in competition with your local grocery store because we provide a different product than they do. Our vegetable varieties are chosen for flavor, not for extended shelf life or ability to endure rough handling by specialized picking and processing equipment. Ours is a high quality produce that is grown locally, without polluting the environment, and we don’t waste energy by transporting it across the country. Any vegetables picked in bulk and shipped through the wholesale system are not fresh. Our produce is picked ripe today and is on our customers' tables tonight or tomorrow. Quality is the result of skill and knowledge coupled with care. Experience provides the skill, but the care comes from the pride we have in our produce. Know Your Farmer By His First Name! Customers buy from us for a number of reasons; they are demanding safer food and more control over additives and residues. The public is aroused because of a sense that the system that they have been taught to rely on has betrayed them, and will probably continue to betray them. The only way to be sure of eating pure wholesome food is to know your farmers by their first name. Although we are not certified organic, we grow our vegetables using only organic methods. We use no synthetically produced fertilizers or pesticides. We feed the soil, not the plants. Healthy soil produces pest and disease resistant vegetables. Scientific studies show that well grown plants are inherently resistant to large scale pest damage. Insects and disease are not the problem, but helpful indicators that let us know that something is lacking in our soil or cultural method, that is stressing our vegetables and lowering their immunity. Therefore it is our responsibility, as farmers, to add the ingredients to the system to support a fertile soil.Crop Sales We sell our crops directly from our farm. Please call ahead with your order and arrange a pick up time.
